About

Wendelin Kwek is a Classical pianist and dedicated educator committed to fostering a deep appreciation for Classical music within contemporary communities. She is passionate about providing high-quality musical education to students of all backgrounds and believes that music should be accessible to everyone.

With over 13 years of teaching experience, Wendelin has worked with students of all ages and skill levels, guiding them toward both artistic and technical excellence. She currently runs a private piano studio in Ashland, Massachusetts, and serves as a teaching assistant for both private and group piano classes at Boston University. Her students have consistently achieved Distinction in ABRSM Piano and Music Theory examinations and have earned recognition in numerous competitions. Her previous teaching appointments include the Indiana University Pre-College Music Program and Yamaha School of Music Singapore.

An active and versatile musician, Wendelin has presented solo and chamber performances across the United States, Singapore, and Indonesia. She has collaborated with internationally renowned pianist Edward Auer in a joint concert at the Esplanade Recital Hall in Singapore and has appeared as a soloist with the Indiana University ad hoc orchestra, performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat Major, Op. 19. In addition to her solo work, she has served as a rehearsal pianist for opera productions, including The Merry Widow by Lehár and The Magic Flute by Mozart. She also values performing alongside her students in studio recitals, fostering a collaborative and inspiring musical environment.

Wendelin’s achievements include First Prize in the European Music Competition (2023), a scholarship from Boston University for her Doctor of Musical Arts studies, and membership in the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society. She was also recognized as a Founders Scholar at Indiana University Bloomington for maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout her undergraduate studies. Her early accomplishments include Distinction in all ABRSM Piano examinations and the Hedy King Robinson Prize for excellence in ABRSM Music Theory.

She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance at Boston University. Wendelin holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Piano Performance, with a minor in Music Education, from the Indiana University Bloomington - Jacobs School of Music. She completed her undergraduate degree in three years with Summa Cum Laude and has studied with distinguished pianists including Boaz Sharon, Edward Auer, Émile Naoumoff, and Reiko-Shigeoka Neriki. She has also participated in masterclasses with Pascal Rogé and attended the Miami Summer Music Festival and the CCM Prague International Piano Institute.
